We may collect information you provide directly, including name, email address, password credentials or authentication identifiers, account settings, membership status, human review credits, tutoring bookings, saved attempts, practice responses, feedback, Decision Arcade history, support messages, and communications with BDALab.
2. Practice Content
Your scenarios, answers, written responses, arcade choices, AI feedback, human review submissions, tutor notes, and related performance data may be processed to provide feedback, save history, display profile details, operate human review, support tutoring, improve quality, troubleshoot issues, and protect the service.
3. Payments and Bookings
Payments are handled by third-party processors such as Stripe. BDALab does not intentionally store full credit card numbers. We may store checkout session IDs, purchase type, price or plan identifiers, customer identifiers, payment status, credit balances, membership dates, tutoring slot labels, and related metadata needed to provide access, prevent fraud, reconcile payments, and answer support requests.
4. Automatically Collected Data
We and our providers may collect technical and usage information such as IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, referring URLs, approximate location derived from IP address, cookies or similar identifiers, log data, checkout status, error events, and analytics events such as page views or conversions.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to create and secure accounts, authenticate users, provide practice and feedback, deliver memberships and credits, process tutoring and human review, send transactional emails, notify the founder or team about bookings and reviews, provide support, analyze product performance, prevent abuse, enforce terms, maintain records, and comply with legal obligations.
6. AI Processing and Human Review
When you request AI feedback, your submitted content may be sent to AI service providers for processing. When you request human review or tutoring, your scenario, answers, contact information, timing details, and related account information may be shared with BDALab reviewers, tutors, contractors, or the founder as needed to provide the service.
7. Service Providers
We may use trusted providers for hosting, databases, payments, email delivery, analytics, authentication, security, AI processing, error monitoring, and review workflows. These providers may process information on our behalf and may have their own privacy terms for information they receive directly from you, such as payment information entered during checkout.
8. Analytics, Cookies, and Similar Technologies
BDALab may use cookies, local storage, analytics tags, and similar technologies to remember language or theme preferences, keep sessions active, measure traffic, understand conversion events, diagnose technical issues, and improve the service. Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies, but some features may not work correctly.
9. Legal Bases and Business Purposes
Depending on applicable law, we process information to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests such as security and product improvement, comply with legal obligations, protect rights and safety, and, where required, with your consent.
10. Sharing and Disclosures
We may disclose information to service providers, payment processors, reviewers, tutors, contractors, legal or safety authorities, professional advisers, successors in a business transfer, or others when you direct us to do so, when needed to operate the service, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to enforce terms, prevent abuse, protect rights, investigate fraud, or comply with law.
11. No Sale of Personal Information
BDALab does not sell personal information in the ordinary meaning of selling contact details for money. Some analytics or advertising laws may define certain tracking activities as a sale or sharing; where those laws apply, you may contact us to ask about available choices.
12. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain your account, preserve purchase and review records, comply with legal or tax obligations, resolve disputes, enforce terms, improve security, and maintain backups. We may retain limited records after deletion requests where required or permitted by law.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access controls and secure payment handling through third-party processors. No online service can guarantee perfect security, and you are responsible for using a strong password and keeping account credentials private.
14. International Processing
BDALab and its service providers may process and store information in Canada, the United States, or other countries where privacy laws may differ from your location. By using the service, you understand that information may be transferred and processed across borders.
15. Your Choices and Rights
You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection regarding personal information, subject to verification and legal, security, accounting, anti-fraud, and operational limits. You may also unsubscribe from non-transactional emails if those are offered.
16. Children
BDALab is intended for students preparing for admissions assessments and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service, providers, laws, or practices change. The updated date will show when it was last revised. Continued use after an update means you acknowledge the updated policy.
